002 Video Mayhem – Dat Murder Shit
Once upon a time the internet was a darker, more primitive place for multimedia. It was a time when the free yahoo and MSN mailboxes were small, very small, and GMail wasn’t even a rumor. It was a time when the words “broadband internet” were uttered, they elicited pleading, wantful looking expressions upon the faces of the masses.
And then suddenly the free picture hosting sites appeared marking another turning point, and everyone was like, “oooh” and “Ahhh”. And then the Corporates provided our broadband fix at $50.00 a monthly pop, and the internet was a better place. But not for long, soon the masses wanted more pictures, faster.
The geeks went to work, the banks greased the wheels, and together they forged a bigger, better, and badder internet, and suddenly video hosting sites emerged from the virtual netherworld. And that marked another turning point, and everyone was like, “oooh” and “Ahhh”.
And now the mediums of the Television and the computer have merged into the new medium that they were meant to become.

Riviera Regime

This week’s video mayhem features a couple of hardcore Hebrews who go by the name of Riviera Regime. Located in Toronto, Canada and Boston, MA, these gangsta rappers were recently labeled the most violent rapping rappers in 2005.
Do not be so naive or bigoted to think that rap is only a black man’s art form or that the people who are not black that do rap, are “wiggers” or “wanna-be”s. To do so would be akin to saying the same about white men who play the blues, that Eric Clapton is a “wigger” and a “wanna-be” among many others artists. Riviera Regime are definitely not reminiscent of the gay-ass-joke, so-called rapper Vanilla Ice or “the foreskin”, so called rapper turned gay-for Jesus fan, Fifty Shmekel.
Riviera Regime are not what you would call card carrying UJA members, nor do they wear their Judaism on their sleeves like many Jews. These boys did not grow up in insulated, Ashkenazi enclaves in the suburbs, nor did they attend Hebrew schools. These boys grew up in the projects surrounded by drugs, gang violence and urban lifestyles.
But even though they grew up surrounded by goyim and “goyim culture”, at the ages of 18 separately they flew to Israel, joined the legendary Jewish army, the israeli Defense Forces, were drafted to an elite front line unit where they met one another, and fought in Lebanon Vs. the Shitzbullah.
